The Seminoles partnered with Hard Rock to build resorts in Hollywood and Tampa.
The Hard Rock Cafe started as a music-themed London burger emporium in the 1970s, becoming a worldwide chain that diversified to include hotels and casinos. My takeaway: Expect some rough patches at places old and new as everyone gets settled in. Kuro, the upscale Japanese-sushi restaurant that opened in 2015, remains untouched - with food as terrific as ever - but service was bumpy during a recent meal after many staffing changes. The Bol, an Asian eatery known for late-night Chinese and Vietnamese comfort food, reopened in August after an expansion that brought a new bar/lounge and nearly triple the seating. The Hard Rock Cafe, known for burgers ground in-house daily, moved to a new home in the expanded casino last November. I spent the last few weeks eating at the resort, checking out existing restaurants and the relocated food court. A new concert venue, new restaurants, new hotel rooms, new retail shops, new pools and a new dayclub/nightclub are part of the mix.īefore heading into the future, I figured now is a good time to assess (and re-assess) what’s already there. Bright and shiny things take center stage at the amped-up Seminole Hard Rock Hotel & Casino in Hollywood as the $1.5 billion guitar tower expansion officially opens to the public.
